578 बृहत्संहितायाम् [Adh. LXX. Sl. 1-3. कन्यालक्षणम् ॥७०॥ Characteristics of Maidens. स्निग्धोन्नताग्रतनुताम्रनखौ कुमार्याः पादौ समोपचितचारुनिगूढगुल्फौ । श्लिष्टाङ्गुली कमलकान्तितलौ च यस्या- स्तामुद्वहेद्यदि भुवोऽधिपतित्वमिच्छेत् ॥१॥ Sloka 1.—One who wishes to become the lord of the earth must marry a maiden, the nails of whose feet are glossy, arched, pointed at the tip, and red, the ankle- joints, equal, well-developed (fleshy), handsome and hidden ; the toes, close-touching, and the soles as lustrous as a lotus. मत्स्याङ्कुशाब्जयववज्रहलासिचिह्ना- वस्वेदनौ मृदुतलौ चरणौ प्रशस्तौ । जङ्घे च रोमरहिते विशिरे सुवृत्ते जानुद्वयं सममनुल्बणसन्धिदेशम् ॥२॥ ऊरू घनौ करिकरप्रतिमावरोमा- वश्वत्थपत्रसदृशं विपुलं च गुह्यम् । श्रोणीललाटमुरुकूर्म्मसमुन्नतं च गूढो मणिश्च विपुलां श्रियमादधाति ॥३॥ Slokas 2-3.—Commendable are the feet with tender, unsweating soles and with the marks of fish, goad, lotus, barely, diamond, plough and sword.
