II 30. 139 छम्मास CJ is a noteworthy colloquial owr form. 140 छाडेसइ K (DB) pref. to छाडेस्यु A (CJ) as more suitable in the context. 145 मालदे वीर (reconstructed reading) is preferable to माल नि वीर B (K); (vide एकलउ immediately following). साहु (reconstructed reading) preferable to मारइ D (J); (vide लीघा iv 145 iv qr). 153 जंई A (BK) pref. metrically to इहां C (DJ). 156 वलिवंतउ K, a Rājasthānī form, pref. to वलवंतउ A (BCDJ) as rhyming better with मलिक immediately preceding. 171 आंदूं AL (DC) is the original reading > आधूं BJ, a scribal emendation. 172 अडारसा सातसा तणा A (D), the original reading, has been variously emended by scribes who failed to catch the correct meaning of the phrase. 173 ल्याव्या J (DC) is the original reading, and is preferable for rhyme; आव्या ABL (K) are scribal emendations. 191 भरइ (साषि) KL is a noteworthy phrase. 201 ल्याविउ A (K) suits the context better than आध्यउ L (C), आव्यां J. 207 It is noteworthy how सुहिणा A > सूहुणा B > सहु D, सविहुं J, scribal emendations through false analogy. 212 सिंद्धासनि A (LK) pref. as it is read by the Rājasthānī MSS; (cf. III Bhaḍāulī, line 14). 216 गंजी A pref. to झगडी BDK, or मारी JL, as characteristic of the author's style. 221 तेव्यउ [जाइ] K (AL) is an instance of the usual OWR passive con- struction; it is emended to तेडउं (जाइ) D (BO), which shows the use of a verbal noun instead. Such a construction, however, is not very usual in the OWR. 224 राय CDJK would give the rhyme better; but राइ A (BL) pref. as the context requires a noun in the Instrumental. 231 झुकंटंव L is a noteworthy colloquial form. 248 गुरडि ADL (K) is the proper OWR form. 252 टवी BJ is a noteworthy variant. 275 सहसमाह BL (A) pref.; सुहडमाह K (JO) may also be possible. 287 पक्ष A (L) is the original reading > [पंथ (cf. पथि B) > ] पंच JK (C). 292 शिंशुगालि BD (CJ) pref. to विणियालि K (L) for rhyme (with the preced- ing word). 33
