( २०० ) corners Adj. of विलोचने the eyes विकुञ्चितभ्रूलतम्। विकुञ्चिता—(वि + √कुञ्च् to contract + क्तः) कुटिलतां नीता contracted; curved (in a frown) भ्रूलता—भ्रूरेव लता भ्रूलता creeper-like eyebrows विकुञ्चिता भ्रूलता यस्मिन् कर्मणि तद् विकुञ्चितभ्रूलतम् in which the creeper-like brows were contracted तिर्यक्—(तिरस् + √अञ्च् + क्विन्) obliquely, sideways तिरस् is changed to तिरि before अञ्च् by 'तिरसस्तिर्यलोपे' पा० ६ ३ ६४। आहिते— (आ + √धा + क्त) कृते; प्रेरिते i. e., were cast It is natural that Párvatí's anger was excited when the ascetic talked ill of her beloved 74 CHANGE OF VOICE:—द्विजातौ इति प्रतिकूलवादिनि (सति) प्रवेपमानाधरलक्ष्यकोपा सा उपान्तलोहिते विलोचने विकुञ्चितभ्रूलतं तिर्यग् आहितवती ॥ ७४ ॥ HINDI TRANSLATION:—उस ब्राह्मण के इस प्रकार (उसकी इच्छा के) विरुद्ध बोलने पर, जिसका क्रोध निचले ओंठ के फड़फड़ाने से प्रकट हो रहा था ऐसी उस (पार्वती) ने कोनों की ओर लाल नेत्रों से भौंहों को टेढ़ा कर के (उस पर) तिरछी निगाह डाली ॥ ७४ ॥ ENGLISH TRANSLATION —When the Bráhmana was talking so adversely, askance eyes, red at the corners (and) with the creeper-like eye-brows contracted (in frown) were cast (at him) by her whose anger was visible from her quivering nether lip 74.
