[ 65 ] The next is a long section (śl. 15—63) on the examination and selection of śālagrāma stones, śālagrāma-śilā-parīkṣā ; (śl. 15) the suitable form and the suitable sizes (śl. 16, 17) for stones are given ; as also the unsuitable types (śl. 18—20) with certain modifications (śl. 21) ; the differences in merit owing to variation in colours (śl. 22) ; and the respective names according to variation of colours (śl. 23, 24) ; and the proportion of the discus, cakra- pramāṇam. In the next subsection, cakra[viśeṣa]-lakṣaṇāni, the parti- cular types of cakras are described (śl. 26—36) ; the differences in name according to colours and their particular merits (śl. 37—40) ; other kinds of cakras and their resultant merits in worship (śl. 41—43, 45—51) (śl. 44) ; the ten avatāras of Viṣṇu are described (śl. 52—60) ; the banning of exposure of cakras (śl. 61) and of the sales etc., of the same (śl. 62) ; the glorification of the Śālagrāma stone is next given.
