[ 68 ] Chapter VII, consisting of 74, seventy-four verses gives descriptions of the twentyfour Jaina Tīrthaṅkaras and their attendant yakṣas and yakṣiṇīs. The names of the twenty-four Tīrthaṅkaras (śl. 1—3) ; the respective bodily colours (śl. 4), their Dhvajas, flags (śl. 5, 6) and the Lunar mansions, Bhas of birth (śl. 7—9) for the different Jinas ; and their birth-asterisms, Rāśis (śl. 10, 11) are given. Next, follow, the names of the yakṣas, that attend upon the service of the Jinas, Jinopāsaka-yakṣas (śl. 12, 13) ; the attendant female deities to the Jinas, Śāsanadevīs (śl. 14—16). The next subsection deals with descriptions of the yakṣas and the yakṣiṇīs for each particular Jina, Jina-yakṣa-jakṣiṇī- mūrtis—the male and the female attendants for the twenty-four Jinas being given in pairs (śl. 17—65). There is a second twelve-handed variety of Cakreśvarī, des- cribed (śl. 66—68a) ; as also the names for the eight attendants to the Vītarāga, the self-controlled one (śl. 68b, 69) ; and the characteristics of the eight attendants to Jinendra (śl. 70—73). Chapter VIII and the last containing 112, one-hundred and twelve verses, concerns itself almost wholly with descriptions of female deities, Devī-mūrti-lakṣaṇas. The opening verse (śl. 1) gives the general description of the Image Gaurī, Gaurī-mūrtīnāṃ sāmānya-lakṣaṇam ; then follow the names of twelve different varieties of Gaurī (śl. 2), as well as their descriptions (śl. 3—14) ; the deities in a shrine of Gaurī (śl. 15—17), and the attendants to Gaurī (śl. 18—20) have after- wards been described. The next section (śl. 21—35) describes Gaṇeśa (śl. 21) and his different forms, Heramba (śl. 22, 23), Gajānana (śl. 24), Vakratuṇḍa (śl. 25), Ucchiṣṭa-gaṇapati (śl. 26), Heramba (śl. 27), Kṣipra-gaṇapati (śl. 28) ; the deities in a shrine of Gaṇeśa ; the attendants of Gaṇeśa (śl. 30—35).
