xvii Ch. 29, Śayanāsanalakṣaṇa describes the making of bed steads, seats, chairs etc. which should be beautified with gold, silver and ivory or bell metal. Ch. 30, Rājagṛha describes the buildings of king's house. Ch. 31, Yantravidhāna deals with the various kinds mechanical con- trivances. Ch. 32, Gajaśālā describes the stables for elephants. Ch. 33, Aśvaśālā deals with the stables for horses. Ch. 34, Aprayojya-projya gives a list of what should be shown and what should not be shown in private and public buildings of all kinds, giving a list of hundred of inauspicious and auspicious figurines and symbols. Ch. 43, Dvārabhaṅga-phala describes the evils flowing from the falling of the doorways. Ch. 44, Sthapatilakṣaṇa describes the qualities of an architect. Ch. 45, Aṣṭāṅgalakṣaṇa describes the eight limbs of town planning and the architecture of a city. Ch. 46, Toraṇabhaṅgādiśānti describes the śāntikarma in case there is a collapse of the city gate.
