अध्याय - 8 आयुकर्म के क्षय से ही मरण होता है - आउक्खयेण मरणं जीवाणं जिणवरेहि पण्णत्तं। आउं च ण हरसि तुमं किह ते मरणं कदं तेसिं॥ (8-12-248) आउक्खयेण मरणं जीवाणं जिणवरेहि पण्णत्तं। आउं ण हरंति तुहं किह ते मरणं कदं तेहिं॥ (8-13-249) जीवों का मरण आयुकर्म के क्षय से होता है, जिनेन्द्रदेव ने ऐसा बताया है, और तू उनके आयुकर्म को हरता नहीं है, तब तूने उन परजीवों का मरण किस प्रकार किया। जीवों का मरण आयुकर्म के क्षय से होता है, जिनेन्द्रदेव ने ऐसा बताया है; परजीव तेरा आयुकर्म हरते नहीं हैं, तब उन्होंने तेरा मरण किस प्रकार किया। The death of a living being is due to the termination of his life- determining karma; this has been declared by the Omniscient Lord.
