अध्याय - 10 अभव्य जीव शास्त्रों को भलीभाँति पढ़कर भी प्रकृति स्वभाव को नहीं छोड़ता। जैसे सर्प गुड़मिश्रित दूध को पीते हुए विषरहित नहीं होते। The one incapable of attaining liberation, even though well- versed in scriptures, does not give up his attachment for various species of karmas, like a snake does not give up its poisonous nature even after drinking sweetened (jaggery-mixed) milk. ज्ञानी कर्म-फल को नहीं भोगता - णिव्वेयसमावण्णो णाणी कम्मप्फलं वियाणादि। महुरं कडुयं बहुविहमवेदगो तेण सो होदि॥ (10-11-318) वैराग्य को प्राप्त ज्ञानी मधुर, कटुक अनेक प्रकार के कर्म-फल को जानता है, इसलिए वह कर्म-फल का भोक्ता नहीं हैं। The knowledgeable, fixed in non-attachment, knows the sweet- bitter nature of the fruition of karmas; he, therefore, remains a non-enjoyer. ज्ञानी पुण्य, पाप को जानता है - ण वि कुव्वदि ण वि वेददि णाणी कम्माइ बहुप्पयाराइं। जाणदि पुण कम्मफलं बंधं पुण्णं च पावं च॥ (10-12-319) 152
