to live in large colonies, and were treated with special honour in order to bolster up their creed of religious tolerance. And in thousands of cases during the long period of Hindu-Muslim war, these very minority Muslims who had been living as refugees in the Hindu states, never failed to rebel or sabotage the Hindu war-efforts, as soon as there was any foreign Muslim invasion. The same law of nature is instinctively obeyed by the animal world. If in the cattle-herds, the number of oxen grows in excess of the cows, the herds do not grow numerically in a rapid manner.
