संदर्भ में पढ़ें—IV 22] UTTARARÂMACHARITA. 139 'नाट्यशास्त्र chap 3" 19-20 On सत्वविद, वीर० remarks 'प्रणेयव्यापारज्ञानं दर्शनेनान्तरेण करणं भरतं प्रति प्रेषणं च' आकूलनम्—extremely wonderful. आकूत n wonder curiosity. but here it seems to have been used as an adjective V and Gh. read आकूतकरम्—that raises a curiosity तस्मिन्=सन्दर्भे C is wrong in taking it to refer to भरत The following sentence supports us आभ्यां care reward आभ्यामित्यवयोरावस्था' इत्यमरः यतः since अन्तेवासिन् m a pupil (lit one who dwells near his teacher) अन्ते वसतीति according to 'उपसम्राज्ञानिषत्तान्यतरस्याम्' पा 6 3 14 ( क्षेम्यः । छात्यः । ग्रामेवासः । ग्रामवासः । ग्रामवासी । ग्रामवासी । नि० वाँ ) अनुयात्रिक follower, attendant. अनुयात्रा अनुगमनं अस्ति अस्य इति (ठन्) आनुयात्रिक is more usual (अनुयात्रा प्रयोजनमस्य इति ठक्) प्रमा यन् for the pur- pose of warding off accident एवेह भवति your words amount to this that he is the eldest As लव used the word आर्य in speaking of कुश, it followed that the latter was the elder of the two If कुश had been younger than लव, the latter would have used the word वत्स प्रसवक्रमेण by order of birth. Or वचन may be construed to mean '(scandalous) words'. The reading in the text is the best of all. The reading दुनयवशा would mean 'immodesty' विक्रया lit. doing a thing
