That makes 100% complete, brilliant sense! Because the editor (Caland) adopted प्राचीᳵ in the text (which agrees with H, B, T, Sāy., Mādh.), and recorded the variant प्राचौᳵ of manuscripts F and J in footnote 2! Wow, that is so clear now!
