REFERENCE TO ĀRYABHAṬA 53 These two verses show that Brahmagupta was not hostile to Ārya- bhaṭa when he wrote this Khaṇḍakhādyaka ; he merely intends presenting the subject matter on simple lines and furnishing the results obtained by Āryabhaṭa in a simpler way.
