We have also to take note of interest- ing discussions of the work by Prof. Jolly, Lexika- lisches aus dem Arthashâstra (Indogermanische For- schungen, xxxi., pp. 204-10), Kollektaneen zum Kautilîya Arthashâstra (Z. D. M. G., 1914, pp. 345-359), Dr Johannes Hertel, Literarisches aus dem Kautilîyashâstra (Vienna Oriental Journal, xxiv, pp. 416-422), and Dr Jarl van Charpentier, En Indisk hand- bok i statslara fran 300 f. kr. (Nordisktidskrift, 1913, pp. 353-369), Narendra Nath Law, Studies in Ancient Hindu Polity (Based on the Arthashâstra of Kautilya) (vol. I., London, etc., 1914) and a partial commentary compiled by Dr `I. Sorabji, as a pupil of Prof. Jolly, and published at Allahabad in 1914. A revised trans- lation by Pandit Shama Shastri is now passing through the press.
