228 EXPLANATORY NOTES The preamble 'तदाह' shows that the verse सरस्वती etc. is quoted from the work of Surānanda. Similar sentiments are also expressed in the Dhvanyāloka. cf. सरस्वती स्वादु तदर्थवस्तु निःष्यन्दमाना महतां कवीनाम् । अलोकसामान्यमभिव्यनक्ति प्रतिस्फुरन्तं प्रतिभाविशेषम् ॥ 1-6.
