( १२८ ) अतिमात्रकर्शिताम् very much emaciated दिवाकरा'प्लुष्ट- विभूषणास्पदाम् । दिवाकरः- ( कृ+टः ) दिवा करोति इति दिवाकरः ( सूर्यः ) the sun आप्लुष्टं - ( आ + √प्लुष् to burn +क्त. ) दग्धं scorched विभूषणं - ( वि + भूष्-ल्युट् +अन ) विभूष्य त्यनेन इति विभूषण an ornament आस्पदं - स्थानं a place दिवाकरेण आप्लुष्टानि विभूषणानां आस्पदानि यस्याः सा दिवाकग'प्लुष्टविभूषणास्पदा, ताम् the places of ornaments of whose ( body ) have been scorched by the sun दिवा-दिवसे during the day-time It is an indeclinable ( अव्यय ) । शशाङ्कलेखां-शशः विद्यते अङ्के यस्य सः शशाङ्कः ( चन्द्रः ) तस्य लेखा शशाङ्कलेखा ( चन्द्रकला ), ताम् the crescent of the moon The simile is very effective— just as the crescent of the moon is very thin and is dimmed by the light of the sun so did appear Parvati who was emaciated and sun-burnt during her observ- ance of hard vows पश्यतः-अवलोकयतः who sees you. Genitive sing of पश्यत् pres part. of √दृश् । सचेतसः —चेतसा सह वर्त्तते इति सचेता, तस्य सचेतसः ( सहृदय ) possessing consciousness or heart; full of feeling. दूयते—( √डूङ् परितापे +लट् ) suffers pain. It is implied that Shiva’s mind also was pained at this condition of Parvati. 48. CHANGE OF VOICE :—मुनिव्रतैः अतिमात्रकर्शितां दिवा- कराप्लुष्टविभूषणास्पदां दिवा शशाङ्कलेखामिव त्वां पश्यतः सचे- तसः कस्य मनसा न दूयते ? ॥ ४८ ॥ HINDI TRANSLATION :—मुनियों के योग्य व्रतों ( के करने )
