( १७० ) crystal rosary. Here अक्षमालिका means simply ‘a rosary.’ समर्पयन्ती—( सम् + √अर्प् + णिच् + शतृ + ङीप् ) आमुञ्चती putting : holding. चिरव्यवस्थापितवाक्— चिरेण व्यवस्थापिता वाक् यया सा चिरव्यवस्थापितवाक् having put in order (in her mind) the speech for a long time, i. e., having pondered for a long time as to what to say and what not. कथञ्चित्—with great difficulty. Because she was moved very much, or she was feeling shy of speaking in such a matter. मिताक्षरम्—( √मा + क्तः = मितम् ) मितानि अक्षराणि यस्मिन् कर्मणि यथा स्यात्तथा मित्ताक्षरम् in limited words. अभाषत—spoke. Imperfect third pers. sing. of √भाष्. 63. Change of Voice :—अथ अद्रेः तनयया मुकुलीकृता- ङ्गुलौ अग्रहस्ते स्फटिकाक्षमालिकां समर्पयन्त्या चिरव्यव- स्थापितवाचा कथञ्चिद् मिताक्षरं अभाष्यत ॥ ६३ ॥ Hindi Translation :—इसके अनन्तर पर्वत की पुत्री (पार्वती) स्फटिक की जपमाला को जुड़ी हुई (एकत्रीकृत) अंगुलियों वाले हाथ के अग्रभाग में पकड़ कर, देर तक वचनों को ठीक करके, जैसे तैसे, थोड़े से अक्षरों में बोली ॥ ६३ ॥ English Translation :—Then the daughter of the mountain (i. e., Párvati), putting the crystal rosary into her forehand, of which the fingers had been drawn together in the shape of a bud, spoke with great difficulty, in measured words, having adjusted her speech (in her mind) for a long time. 63.
