Like the painting of lip- Parvati had given up playing with ball also निवर्तितः—वारितः turned away The hands were no longer employed for the two acts mentioned above. कुशाङ्कुरादानपरिक्षताङ्गुलिः—कुशस्य अङ्कुराणां आदानेन परि- क्षता अङ्गुलयो यस्य सः the fingers of which were pricked while plucking the tender blades of kusha grass. अक्षसूत्रप्रणयी—( प्रणयः+इनिः ) अक्षाणां सूत्रस्य ( रुद्राक्ष- मालायाः ) प्रणयी ( प्रेमवान् ) the friend of the rosary of Aksha beads, i e, the hand was employed in counting the beads कृतः—was made. The poet means to say that on assuming the role of ascetics, Parvati substi- tuted plucking the kusha grass and counting of beads
