संदर्भ में पढ़ें( ३५ ) NOTES :—नियमस्था—( $\sqrt{स्था}+$कः ) नियमे तिष्ठतीति नियमस्था, तया by her, who was observing a vow. विलासचेष्टितं—विलासेन चेष्टितं or विलासरूपं चेष्टितं इति विला- सचेष्टितं sportive movements ; coquetry. विलास may be explained as—a form of feminine gesture considered as indicative of amorous sentiments. Cf ‘यानस्थाना- सनादीनां मुखनेत्रादिकर्मणाम् । विशेषस्तु विलासः स्यादिष्टसंदर्श- नादिना ।’ साहित्यदर्पणम् । In idiomatic Hindi it is known as नखरा or हावभाव । विलोलदृष्टं—विलोळं ( चञ्चल ) दृष्टं ( दृष्टिः ) विलोलदृष्टं ( कर्मधारयः ) unsteady glances Here दृष्टं ( $\sqrt{दृश्}+$क्तः ) is a noun and not a Past Part. द्वयं— द्वौ अवयवौ यस्य तत् द्वय ( द्वि+अयच् ) the two things ; having two parts ; a pair अयच् is added by ‘द्वित्रिभ्यां तयस्य अयज्वा’ पा० ५।२।४३ । The alternative form is द्वितयं । Similarly we have त्रितयं or त्रयं ( having three parts ) from त्रि । तन्वीषु—कृशासु slender. तन्वी is fem. from तनु । हरिणाङ्गनासु—हरिणानां अङ्गनाः, तासु ( मृगीषु ) female deer. द्वये—with the two. It is Locative Singular. निक्षेपः—न्यासः a deposit. अर्पितं—दत्तं was given ; was kept. The poet imagines that Parvati who was leading the life of ascetism could not use graceful movements and unsteady glances, hence she had deposited them with creepers and female deer respectively, who used them freely. CHANGE OF VOICE :—नियमस्था सा विलासचेष्टितं तन्वीषु
