( ४५ ) उज्झितः ( त्यक्त ) पूर्वः मत्सरः यस्मिन् तत् in which the previous antipathy was abandoned by the hostile beasts It is not uncommon that the presence of holy persons has effect on the life of wild beasts, and references to such an effect are made at a number of places in Sanskrit poetry. द्रुमैः—वृक्षैः by the trees. अभीष्टप्रसवार्चितातिथि । अभीष्ट—( अभि+√इष्+क्तः ) वाञ्छितं desired प्रसवः—फलं fruits ‘ स्यादुत्पादे फले पुष्पे प्रसवे गर्भमोचने ’ इत्यमरः । अर्चिताः—पूजिताः, सत्कृताः were served with अभीष्टै प्रसवै अर्चिता अतिथयो यस्मिन् तत् where the guests were honoured ( or served with ) desired fruits For the idea Cf ‘ तस्यातिथीनामधुना सपर्या स्थिता सुपुत्रेष्विव पादपेषु ’ रघु० १३ ४६ । नवोटजाभ्यन्तरसंभृता- नलम् । उटजः—पर्णशाला a hut made of leaves ( residence of hermits ). ‘ पर्णशालोटजोऽस्त्रियाम् ’ इत्यमरः । संभृताः— ( सं√ भृञ्_+क्तः ) आहिताः maintained, kindled. नवानां ( नूतननिर्मितानां ) उटजानां अभ्यन्तरे संभृताः अनलाः ( अग्नयः ) यस्मिन् तत् in which ( sacred ) fires were kindled in the newly built cottages. These three are Adjectives of तपोवनं ( the penance-forest ) where Parvati practised penance. पावनं—पावयति इति पावनं ( पवित्रम् ) purifying or holy.
