BHAIMI PRAKASHAN (1) LAGHU SIDDHANT KAUMUDI—BHAIMI VYAKHYA PART-I Bhaimi Vyakhya of Shri Bhim Sen Shastri is unique and first of its kind published in Hindi, in its detailed and scientific exposi- tion of the Laghu Siddhant Kaumudi. The fact that part-I (पूर्वार्ध) runs into more than 600 pages (large size), speaks for the pains- taking nature, depth of learning and experience of the author. He has left no stone unturned to make the subject as simple and easy to grasp as possible for the students and to achieve this aim, he has combined traditional method with the modern and scientific method of teaching and analysis. The author has taken great pains to bring home to students the meaning of the Sutras without the help of Vrittis. At the end of each section have been appended excercises, prepared with great care and caution to remove the doubts of studens. Declensions of all the words mentioned in the L. S. K. have been given in the Bhaimi Vyakhya. This does away with the need to have a separate Roopmala. The author has also given a list of about 2000 words with meanings. These include many rare and uncommon words. This is a real help in translation. The unique feature of the publi- cation is the section on Avyaya (अव्यय), which has been acclaimed by eminent scholars and erudite pandits as an original contribution to the subject. The several indexes at the end are very useful. The language of the work is very simple and lucid. The difficult and knotty points have been handled deftly. On contro- versial subjects, the views of all the well-known authorities have been quoted. The author is not a blind follower of tradition in matter of interpretation and meaning of Sutras.
