संदर्भ में पढ़ें( 7 ) Brahmagupta in 628 A. D., the Viṣṇudharmottara must have been compiled between 628 and 1000 A. D. Sect. III, too, is of a very miscellaneous character, treating of dancing, singing and music, sculpture and painting (the making of images of gods) and archi- tecture (construction of temples).” The Matsya-Purāṇa, the Padma-Purāṇa, the Skanda- Purāṇa and the Brahma-Purāṇa were also used for the (Śiva) Liṅga and (Viṣṇu) Śālāgrāma sections ; and passages from the Bṛhat-Saṁhitā, have been quoted verbatim, in the Adbhuta section. Another text, more sparingly consulted, is the Viśvakarma- Śāstra. This is certainly a Śilpa work of the Northern School²¹. But the work most profusely drawn upon, often verbatim, is certainly the Rūpamaṇḍana²². This may be identical with the text of the same name²³, the authorship of which is ascribed to Maṇḍana himself. 21. Haridas Mitra : Buddhāpratimālakṣaṇam. The Sārasvatī Bhavana Skt.
