V and Gh read सम्भावि- तानि दिवसे which means--I am honoured on a day on which there is no joy अनुपस्थिते (not approached) महोत्सवे दस्मिन् This seems to mean that Janaka paid her a visit at a time when there was no occasion for joy (but rather for sorrow) and that on former occasions his visits occurred when there was some festivity going on This is not a good reading It does not fit in the context as our reading does. The following words 'हा देव महाराजानि' would moreover be abrupt and un- connected with this reading P 92 Verse 10 यदा ॰गुरुतम on account of whom, your husband, the highest among the ancient teachers, and the receptacle (treasure) of holy lustre, looks upon himself as sanctified.
