Sl. 14-16] सप्तमोऽध्यायः 85 प्राकृतगत्यामारोग्यवृष्टिसस्यप्रवृद्धयः क्षेमम् । संक्षिप्तमिश्रयोर्मिश्रमेतदन्यासु विपरीतम् ॥१४॥ Sloka 14.—In the Prakrita course of Mercury, the people will command good health ; there will be suffi- cient rain, good crops and general happiness. In the Sankshipta and Misra courses, the effect will be mixed ; and it will be reverse in the other courses. तथा च गर्गः । क्षेमारोग्यसुभिक्षेषु लक्षणा प्राकृता गतिः । संक्षिप्ता च विमिश्रा च शुभाशुभफलोदये ॥ तीक्ष्णा घोरा च पापा च तथा योगान्तिकापरा । एताश्चतस्रः सौम्यस्य दुर्भिक्षाक्षेमलक्षणाः ॥ ऋज्व्यतिवक्रा वक्रा विकला च मतेन देवलस्यैताः । पञ्चचतुर्द्व्येकाहा ऋज्व्यादीनां षडभ्यस्ताः ॥१५॥ Sloka 15.—According to Devala's view, the effects of ऋज्वी—direct, अतिवक्रा—exceedingly retro-grade, वक्रा— retrograde and विकला-decayed motions of Mercury will last for (5 × 6 =) 30, (4 × 6 =) 24, (2 × 6 =) 12, and (1 × 6 =) 6 days. ऋज्वी हिता प्रजानामतिवक्रार्घं गतिर्विनाशयति । शस्त्रभयदा च वक्रा विकला भयरोगसञ्जननी ॥१६॥ Sloka 16.—Mercury when his motion is ऋज्वी or direct does good to the people, while his over retrograde motion brings on famine by destroying the wealth (of the country). When he is retrograde in his motion he will bring on war in the land; and when his motion is decayed or weak; he engenders fear and disease. तथा च देवलः । दिनानि त्रिंशदुदितस्तिष्ठेद्यदि च सोमजः । ऋज्वी गतिः सा विज्ञेया प्रजानां हितकारिणी ॥
