686 बृहत्संहितायाम् [Adh. LXXXVIII. Sl. 25-28 केकेति पूर्णकुटवद्यदि वामपार्श्वे चाषः करोति विरुतं जयकृत्तदा स्यात् । क्रेक्रेति तस्य विरुतं न शिवाय दीप्तं सन्दर्शनं शुभदमस्य सदैव यातुः ॥२५॥ Sloka 25 - When the blue jay flying to the left of a person cries as "Keka", or does like the Purna Kuti (Kiri kiri, kahakaha), it bestows success; but its cry "Kre- kra" is "Burning" and does not lead to happiness; its mere sight is always favourable to a traveller. अण्डीरकष्टीति रुतेन पूर्णष्टिट्टिट्टिशब्देन तु दीप्त उक्तः । फेण्टः शुभो दक्षिणभागसंस्थो न वाशितं तस्य कृतो विशेषः ॥२६॥ Sloka 62.-The Andeeraka is said to be 'full' and 'Burning' with the sounds 'Ti' and 'Tittitti' respec- tively. The Phenta seen to the right is auspicious; and no importance need be attached to its cry. श्रीकर्णरुतं तु दक्षिणे क्वक्वकेति शुभं प्रकीर्तितम् । मध्यं खलु चिक्कचिकीति यच्छेषं सर्वमुशन्ति निष्फलम् ॥२७॥ Sloka 27 -- The "Kwakwakwa" sound of the "Sri- karna flying to the right is said to be auspicious; the 'Chik chiki' one is medium in effect, and all other sounds, they say, are without any good result. दुर्बलेरपि चिरिल्विरिल्विति प्रोक्तमिष्टफलदं हि वामतः । वामतश्च यदि दक्षिणं व्रजेत् कार्यसिद्धिमचिरेण यच्छति ॥२८॥ : Sloka 28.- The sound "Chirilwirilu" of the Durbali too to the left is said to be of favourable effects; if it flies from left to right, it gives erelong the success of the undertaking.
