Again on folio 30 verso l. 9 where a word is left out in the writing, its place is indicated by a cross above the line, and the word (सवे) is written in the left-hand margin, along with the cross. On folio 31 verso l. 11 where f (the vowel i) is left out, two curved strokes above and below the letter are marked instead. The numbering of verses is absolutely regular throughout the entire poem. Verse-numbers are always rubricated. The names of metres, colophons of Khaṇḍas, dates of events are also usually rubricated. The paper is thick, light brownish in colour, and so well- preserved that even the fibres in its texture are visible. In the left- hand margins insects have bored holes, some of which have been repaired by pasting strips of the same kind of paper, so that the damage is not noticeable. But the text has in no way suffered on account of this The ink is shining black, giving a glossy appearance to the writing. The script is Jaina Devanāgarī, with the paḍimātrā. The style of writing is exceedingly beautiful and can be ranked as one of the finest specimens of Old Western Rājasthānī calligraphy. There are hardly any corrections in the ms — even signs for ā and ī follow- ing a consonant which are likely to be interchanged are all meti- culously though spontaneously differentiated. The brief colophon at the end of the ms gives the date of copying only—v. s. 1711. The
