अपने प्राणप्यारके लिये कामदेव बन्नुं ; अर्थात् बसन्तमें, ये सब मुझे जिस तरह सता रहे हैं ; परकालमें, मैं भी इन्हें सताऊँ और अपना बदला लूँ ।

दोहा ।

सुतु बसन्त कोकिल कुहक, त्यौही पवन श्रृणुप ।

विरह विपतके परत ही, सुवा होय विपरूप ॥३४॥

सार—विरही स्त्री पुरुषोंके लिये “बसन्त” कालके समान है ।

34. This month of Chaitra kills (as it were) those who are suffering from the pangs of separation, by the sweet sound of cuckoo and by the air of Malyachala mountain. Alas! even nectar becomes poison in adversity. (Sweet sound of the cuckoo and the gentle breeze in the spring season please every one—but those whose beloved ones are away feel their absence all the more by these messengers of spring.)
