( ३४ )

मुग्धे धानुष्कता केयम पूर्वा त्वयि दश्यते ।

यथा हरसि चेतांसि गुणैरेव न सायकैः ॥१३॥

हे मुग्धे सुन्दरी ! धनुर्विद्यामें ऐसी असाधारण कुशलता तुझमें कहींसे आई कि, वाण छोड़े बिना, केवल गुण* से ही, तू पुरुष के हृदयको बेध देती है ? ॥ १३ ॥

हे कमसिन भोली-भाली नाज़नी ! तैने ऐसी गूज़बकी तीर-न्दाज़ी किससे सीखी, जो बिना तीर चलाये ही, केवल कमान की डोरी छूकर ही, तू मर्द के दिल को छेद देती है ?

उस्ताद जौक ने कहा हैं :—

तुफंगा तीर तो जाहिर, न था कुछ पास क़ातिलके ।

इलाही फिर जो दिल पर, ताकने मारा तो क्या मारा ? ॥

as ears ; Dwiṣa—means Brahmins as also teeth ; Mukta means liberated souls as well as pearls. In the body of a beautiful girl we find the hairs well bound up—this is control ; eyes stretched up to ears—and the other meaning is it goes beyond the knowledge of Vedas ; mouth full of beautiful teeth—the other meaning is that venerable Brahmins are connected with it ; breast adorned by pearls—the other meaning is even the liberated souls are connected with it. Hence taking one side of the meaning—we find that woman whose body is thus full of signs of calmness is also very attractive and disturbing to us.

• गुण—(१) चतुरार्द्ध, (२) रत्नस्त्री, जिससे धनुषके दोनों कोटि बांधे जाते हैं ।
