मारी गयी है, दानों कानोसे सुनाई नहीं देता, तोभी मेरा बेहूया मन विषयोंको चाहता है ।

व्यपय ।

गयी भोगकी चाह, गयो गौरव गुमान सब ।

मिल गये सुरलोक, अकेले आप रहे अब ।

उठत सु लकड़ी टेक, तिसिर आँखन में डायो ।

शब्द सुनत नहीं कान, बचन बोलत बहायो ।

यह दशा वृद्धतनकी, तज चकित होत मरिचौ सुनत ।

देखो विचित्र गति जगतकी, दुखहूँको सुखसों लुनत ॥६॥

9. Along with the approach of old age the power for the enjoyment of sensual pleasures has vanished and the great respect and honour paid by the people have also declined. Our equals in age have already died. Our surviving friends are not so better off in the world as to be of any use to us. Owing to physical weakness we can only rise and that slowly with the help of a stick. Our eyes has become dim with ever-increasing darkness. How shameless should our body be to think that notwithstanding all these disabilities it still fears to meet death ?

हिंसाशून्यमयललभ्यमशनं धात्रामरुत्कल्पितं

व्यालानां पशवस्तृणां कुसुजः सृष्टाः स्थलीशायिनः ॥

संसाराण्यवलंबनचमधियां वृत्तिः कृता सा नृणां

यामन्वेषयतां प्रयाति सततं सर्वं समाप्तिं गुणाः ॥१०॥
