करता है । कौरव-सभामें उसीने द्रौपदी की लाज रक्खी थी । जो उसे याद करता है, उसकी खबर वह अवश्य लेता है । कहा है :—

जो तुमको सुमिरत जगदीशा, ताहि आपनो जानत ईशा । अभिमानी से हो तुम दूरा, सतवादीके जीवनमूरा । सुखी मीन जहँ नीर अगाधा, जिमि हरशरण न एको बाधा ॥

॥ दोहा ॥

बड़े विवेकी तजत हैं, सम्भति सुतपितु मात ।

कन्या और कोपीन हूँ, हमसे तजो न जात ॥ १०८ ॥

108. How wonderful is the action of those wise in the knowledge of Brahma and pure of reason, who renounce altogether, without any further desire to regain them the pleasures of life, gold and all other objects of wealth ! We neither possessed such things before, nor do we possess them now, nor is there any certainty of getting them hereafter, still we are unable to give up even the desire for obtaining them.

व्याघ्रीव तिष्ठति जरा परितर्जन्यन्ती

रोगाश्च शत्रव इव प्रहरन्ति देहम् ॥

आयुः परिस्रवति भिन्नवटादिवाभ्यो

लोकस्तथाप्यहितभाचरतीति चित्रम् ॥ १०६ ॥
