(1) K reads कुनटीं गन्धकं चूर्णेन, which seems to be partially in- correct. (2) D reads गुटिकाकृता तेनैव. K reads गुटिकाकृतामानेनैव. M reads पुटीकृत्यन्तु तेनैव. All these texts are partly incorrect. (3) D reads वेधति, which ought to have been वेधयति. (4) D has प्रध्याम्यसा पद्मिन्या, an incomplete and incorrect charana. (5) पद्मिनी तु शुभपत्रैः, an incorrect reading in D. M reads पद्मिनीसदृशा पत्रैः. (6) M reads पत्रैरपि च तादृशैः, wherein the first term is tautological. (7) M reads भङ्गेऽपि च. (8) D reads प्राक्रम्य. (9) पश्येदूर्ध्वं तु मण्डलम्, a variant in D. (10) D has दृश्येष, which has no sense. (11) M reads तारकालोक. (12) M has लक्षयेज्जायतौ, which has no sense. (13) D reads सा गेयाथ, which mars the metre. (14) Four hemistichs commencing from तस्याः are not found in M.

(2) D reads साह- स्रांशे देवेशि, thus destroying the metre. (3) D reads सिद्धिः. K reads शुद्धं. (4) K has भूत्रों only for this charaṇa. (5) D reads मारयेत्. (6) M reads सूतराजश्च. (7) D has मूकं भूषागतं. K has सुकभूषागतं. Both are incorrect. (8) M reads मृद्यते, which is gram. inc. (9) संकेतेन मयेन च, a variant in D, the sense whereof is not clear. (10) The whole piece relating to कुमुदिनी is not found in M. (11) D reads कुमुदिन्यां, which is incorrect. (12) D reads काश्मीरपाषाणे. (13) पूर्णिमायां कारयेत् प्रिये, a variant in D. After this śloka we find in D the follow- ing hemistich--कुमुदिनिकन्दमादाय तस्य मध्ये रसं क्षिपेत् ; and in K--समु- दायानि प्रशस्ता चित्रकस्य यथा नि चाकंदाद्विकसंति हि. These seem to be re- dundant. (14) K reads खापरे (a slang term.)

M reads विविधं चित्रको ज्ञेयः, wherein the first term is incorrect. (7) D and K read रक्ताकृष्णो. M reads कृष्णो रवो रसायनम्, wherein the mid- dle term is incorrect. (8) D reads शुक्ले, which is not correct. K reads शु only. M reads शुक्ल (without any suffix), which is gram. inc. (9) श्रेष्ठमध्यकनीयसः, a variant in D. श्रेष्ठमध्यकणीयसः, a variant in K. श्रेष्ठमध्यात् कनीयसम्, a variant in M. All are incorrect. (10) K reads श्रितं, which is erroneous. M reads erroneously रवं in place of रक्तं. (11) K reads चोद्धरेह, which is not accurate. (12) Both D and K read कृष्णचित्तं समुत्पाद्य ; but the term is चित्रक and not चित्त. (8) This hemistich is not found in M. (9) Both D and K read पूर्व- पक्षस्य. (10) M reads गहीत्वा, which is not unanimously correct. (11) D reads कल्पयित्वा तु. M reads व्यतीत्य साधयित्वा च. (12) D has हस्तोपादैरथापि वा, which is incorrect. K and M have हस्तपादैरथापि वा. (13) D and K read तस्यास्तैलं. (But the word बीजं is neuter.)
